New Goal
I posted a poll on the page to get your opinion.
I was told early on that it is good to set specific goals to keep yourself motivated and feel like your are working towards something. In JustIn Control 1.0 the goals were to be 199 by my birthday in January (didn't happen) and to get on American Gladiators (which was canceled.) So that failed. But I really really like having a goal.
Please take a look at the poll to the right of this page. I'm keeping it open for a week and next Monday we'll discuss the results.
For the final answer "other" please add your own suggestion via a comment on this post. I just gave 3 basic ones, but if you want to be creative, I totally welcome it.
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

this is just my opinion, take it with a grain of salt...I have a hard time keeping up a consistent routine when my goal is to lose a few punds, so I know for me setting a goal like a ie:running a 10k, also accomplishes the goal of losing weight (2 goals) win win. I am on a "couch to a 10k" plan and it tells me exactly what I need to be doing everyday until I am running my 10k. No need to lay out a plan, just stick with what it says and i'll be ready by 10 weeks. Then I get to run for a cause and help others while accomplishing my goals! WOW! LONG NOTE SORRY! So proud of you:)
I agree with Harrell but I voted differently:)
I am doing a 5 mile run on May 2nd. I'm signed up and have my "team" together. There is my accountability. They are counting on me! Especially since I'm the team leader! I am forced to be healthy and run daily or I get behind in my training. It's been great.
The people I am doing it with are runners. Which stinks for me... since I'm not. I've always been a swimmer:) It's been great to train with them though. There is this one lady who runs marathons. She is so patient with me.
It would have been easier for me tot do a bike ride, but I wanted to stretch myself:)
I voted fit into a certain size clothes, which can be accomplished by achieving one or more of the other goals at the same time. I know that I feel good when I feel like I look good in my clothes that fit nicely. Its not necessarily about numbers, but how you feel about yourself in your own skin. If it takes a race to get there, or a number on the scale, then that is great. Which kinda defeats the purpose of my vote cause I'm saying do all 3! Haha. But my real vote is clothes...ok, I'm done now. :)
I voted for Physical Accomplishment - but I've always been the most motivated to get into shape by having an official event as a goal: a racquetball tournament, century ride, etc. For me, it's probably mostly about the competition - and a little bit about the investment of $ in an entrance fee (have to make it worth it!) The nice side-effect of training for such an event is that the weight comes off as a natural by-product.
Your mileage may vary, of course - what motivates you, Justin?
